How to Restore a Balm Modpack Backup

Recover the matching files and configuration after an unsuccessful change. Learn more about Balm Mod.

Choose the right backup

Close the game and identify the backup made before the failing change. Compare its recorded game, loader and mod versions with the setup you intend to recover. Preserve the current failed instance separately if its logs are useful. Avoid merging unknown files into the backup because that can destroy the distinction between a known working set and an untested mixture.

Restore a coherent instance

Use your launcher's supported restore or import process where available. For a manual restoration, work with a separate copy and include the matching mods, configuration and relevant instance information. Replacing only the library while retaining dependent mods from another update may recreate an incompatible set. Keep saves backed up independently until you have verified the recovered environment.

Verify before continuing

Launch the restored profile and check the selected game and loader versions. Test with a disposable world or a copy of the intended save before continuing important play. Confirm the dependent feature works and save the recovered version record. If the same error remains, verify that you launched the restored instance rather than the failed profile with a similar name.
